ALEKSANDAR DJAJA

 

He was born on martch 3, 1954 in Belgrade, Serbia, where he finished drama section of Drama College in 1979.
He is a member od Drama Writers Assotiation of Serbia. Also, Aleksandar Djaja was a director of National theatre in Pristina from 1992 to 1993. Since 1996. he is director of Drama section in Terazije Theatre (Pozoriste na Terazijama).

Aleksandar is author of several well known theatre plays in Belgrade and other cities in Serbia like: ''Između'' (Belgrade, 1976.), ''Veroneze'' (Belgrade, 1977.),  ''Srpski rulet'' (Sabac, 1983.), ''Noć veštica'' (Belgrade, 1986.), ''Boj petlova'' (Zajecar, 1989.), ''Bitka za Senjak'' (Beograd, 1989.), ''Bumbarov let'' (Beograd, 1992.), ''Jankovac – potopljeni svet'' (Zajecar, 1995.), ''Život Jevremov'' (Beograd, 2006.) and ’’Povratak kneževog sokola’’ (Kragujevac, 2006.).

As author of dramas ''Bitka za Senjak'' and ''Jankovac – potopljeni svet'', he was awarded by special award of Belgrade television competition of Drama Writers Assotiation of Serbia, for 1989. and 1990. year.

He wrote about fifty radio dramas (''Svome otačastvu'', ''Galaktička groznica'', ''Pozvoni i pucaj'', ''Milovan Glišić'', ''Svet bogalja'', ''Nulla dies sine experimentium'', ''Odbrana i propast Bodroga'', ''Jakl se vraća kući'', itd... ) broadcasted on Belgrade and Novi sad Radio.

As a regular contributor of Youth Program - Belgrade Television since 1981, Aleksandar Djaja wrote nearly five hundred screenplays for tv shows: ''Kockica'', ''Čik pogodi'', ''Dečje igre'', ''Otkrivalica'', ''Život sportskog konja'', ''Dvorovi Beograda'', ''Atom po atom'',  ''Zmajeva biblioteka'', ''Gestovni bukvar'', ''Vlakna i tekstil'', ''Zooteka'', etc... Not to mention that he cooperated in entertainment program of Belgrade Television (tv show: ''Ponoćni taksi'', ''Mega-hit''... ).

Djaja wrote a movie screenplay ''Palanka u planini'', according to Andjelia Lazarevic novel. He is author of tv show ''Mansarda'', broadcasted on Serbian National Television.

In daily newspaper ''Borba'' he wrote more then two hundred articles as author of column: ''I to se dešava''. He is a winner of Borba's (neswpaper) essay award for 1999. He also cooperated in many other newspapers and magazines, like (''Drama'', ''Scena''). Published many texts on internet portals as well. Today, he writes for "Pecat" magazaine.

In edition of "Savremena srpska drama'' he published several dramas: ''Jezero'', ''Veroneze'', ''Život Jevremov'', ''La Герилла'', ''Blagoljub II'', ’’Povratak kneževog sokola’’, ''Jankovac – potopljeni svet’’, ’’Bitka za Senjak’’, "Bilo jednom u Srbiji“ and "Održavanje Zaharija".

On 22 March 2013, at the meeting of the Assembly of the City, was appointed for Acting Director of Theatre at Terazije in Belgrade. On 19 March 2014 he received the award "Zlatni beočug" ("Golden Chain") Cultural and Educational Society of Belgrade, for a lasting contribution to the culture of Belgrade, in the field of dramatic art.
